City Focuses on Development of Bus Rapid Transit

DKI Fokus Kembangkan Transportasi Berbasis BRT

I believe the BRT is faster developed than other systems. That's why it is still being developed

The best mass transportation service keeps being provided for Jakarta residents through Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system. The system is deemed more rapidly developed than Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT).

"It's far from dram transportation in the city. I don't know. Certainly, our city is worst. I believe the BRT is faster developed than other systems. That's why it is still being developed," said Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama, at City Hall, Monday (6/20).

Transportation Ministry Asked to Realize the Rest of Grant Buses

Basuki admitted, his party was trapped in a review about Transjakarta corridor service. But now, it has been changed into route service.

"Our previous focus is at 15 corridors, but I say it was wrong. But it should be focused on route," he expressed.

To know the trip patterns of passengers, the system tap and tap out is planned to be applied. Thus far, the new system is currently applied in only tap.

"We focus on your objectives actually. So I've assigned Transjakarta, you must not focus on corridor again. You know we have to serve passenger to get to the destination," he uttered.

Basuki will continue to add more buses to optimize the service. Buses that wil be purchased is a local product, which also aims to develop domestic production.

"We need time to buy bus. Despite the brand is foreign country, but its autobody is local," he finished.
